This is my debut animated short, Fallen Star.
After learning blender and messing around with animation in CSP, I thought it would be fun to create a quick and simple dog fight with some low poly starships, in the vein of early Star Fox, y'know? Suddenly I'm 8 months down the line and knee deep in all sorts of ideas. I had no idea that it would turn into this. I've had so much fun working on it, that I'm eager to make more and keep improving. I'm actually super proud of what I've accomplished here considering this is my first full production piece.
After putting in so much effort I started to realise that it would benefit from some purposefully crafted music. The fantastic Kapuko has really pushed the whole thing to new heights with a catchy synth track.
I've mixed in some SE for immersion but audio isn't my strong suit. I've now realised how much effort is required to make SE sound really special. Maybe next time I'll commission someone for SE in the future.

i would work on the animations in the ship battle sequence. it looked like the lasers were shooting out and immediately hitting an invisible wall just a few feet from the firing ship.
There is definitely room for improvement. I know that shot you refer to, I went back and forth on different takes for it. I added an extra laser effect which flashes up for impact. It's the big white and pink flash you can see if you go frame by frame. It's probably not the best choice in the end, but I've gotta move on. Maybe I can achieve something more refined in the next production. Thanks for taking the time to review.
